| The ALTERCATIONS project began in 1999 as a black and white graphic novel. However, early in the book's development, Yurkovich opted to produce ALTERCATIONS as a full-color album. The project was a labor of love but a lengthy endeavor, and was only completed in summer 2006. The book contains ten chapters, the first five of which were published in 2001 as ALTERCATIONS: A HISTORY OF SUPER-HERO ACTIVITY IN 20TH CENTURY NORTH AMERICA. In addition to the five unseen chapters in ALTERCATIONS, the original five chapters have been refinished and rescripted, resulting in a ten-chapter, 144-page unified project that spans the 20th century and the evolution of the super-hero. Each chapter is gorgeously rendered in a primary color that best enhances the mood and tone of each story. ALTERCATIONS is currently unsigned and is available for publication.
