This is a pinafore outfit I made from a vintage pattern from the 1950s. Size 2
(18-24+ months).
It is made from a chicken fabric.
There is a very complex and handmade applique of a little Chinese (Asian) girl
(Betsy!) on the front. I make the little girl out of muslin, and then I add her hair,
clothes, and shoes. Each layer is attached with fuseable webbing and then she
is embroidered on, so she will never come loose or peel off.
Her face is embroidered.
The pinafore is then trimmed with black ric-rack.
The matching bloomers are made out of moon and stars fabric with the chicken
fabric used as ruffles at the legs and to cover the wasteband, and a little pocket
on the hind-end. ;)
Both the pinafore and the bloomers are fully lined. The pinafore closes with
hammered on snaps for extra security.
